The following books are available for you to select:

The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History; Elizabeth Kolbert; Henry Holt & Company; 2014 These books differ substantively and stylistically, yet all provide unique insights into the changes that are taking place on earth.In your report, please respond to the following questions:

   
What is the author’s overall thesis? How does the author build a case for the thesis?

   
What parts of the author’s argument do you find most convincing? What part do you find least convincing?

   
The books combine discussions of science and politics. How well does the author integrate these approaches? Is one more compelling than the other?

   
If the author’s goal is to educate and motivate people, how effective is this format?

   
Provide your overall impression of the book and add any additional comments you might have. The book report should be 3-4 pages in an 11 or 12 pt. font with 1.5 or 2.0 line spacing.
