Book Report
The following books are available for you to select:

The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History; Elizabeth Kolbert; Henry Holt & Company; 2014 These books differ substantively and stylistically, yet all provide unique insights into the changes that are
taking place on earth.
In your report, please respond to the following questions:

What is the author’s overall thesis? How does the author build a case for the thesis?
•
What parts of the author’s argument do you find most convincing? What part do you find least
convincing?
•
The books combine discussions of science and politics. How well does the author integrate these approaches? Is one more compelling than the other?
•
If the author’s goal is to educate and motivate people, how effective is this format?
•
Provide your overall impression of the book and add any additional comments you might have.
The book report should be 3-4 pages in an 11 or 12 pt. font with 1.5 or 2.0 line spacing.
