This is a paper that is focusing on the student to choose a topic from the MSJC online library databases. The paper also provides additional information to use in the writing of the assignment paper. Below is the description of the assessment:

Choose a topic from the MSJC online library databases

Directions: Choose a topic and an issue. Topics can be found in the MSJC Online Library Databases, like Issues and Controversies, Opposing Viewpoints, etc… You are responsible for conducting research on your topic. Your issue should represent the controversy and also take a stance on that controversy. Be as clear as possible when presenting your stance on the issue you have selected.

Topic: Covid-19

Issue: Coronavirus: Are Quarantines and Travel Restrictions Appropriate Responses to COVID-19?

My stance: Quarantines and Travel Restrictions are Appropriate Responses to COVID-19

Requirements: Your essay should have a clear introduction that includes a thesis statement at the end of it. Your thesis should provide your stance on this issue and also preview the reasons (subtopics) you plan to discuss.

The length of your argument essay should be 4-5 pages.

Use MLA style and avoid grammatical errors.

Use at least seven (7) sources.
1. One (1) source will be a popular source of your choosing.
2. Your second source (2) should be a course text, such as a content page or your course textbook.
a. Additionally, review the assigned readings; which information applies to your thesis? Can you relate ideas from your prior essays or activities to this essay?
3. Five (5) sources should be peer-reviewed, scholarly sources that are academic in nature and also should expand on the concepts you’re analyzing in the research essay.

Essay 5, your argument essay, should be submitted online via Canvas.
