The American Academy of Pediatrics Hardship Scholarship Program is specifically designed to help allay financial difficulties for residents and fellowship trainees in good academic standing. The Academy grants annually a number of hardship scholarships varying from $1,000 to $5,000. Each applicant will be reviewed carefully and awards will be granted to the most deserving pediatric residents and fellowship trainees.
Qualifications of Applicant
1. Be a pediatric resident (categorical or combined) in a training program AND have a definite commitment for another year of residency or chief year in a program accredited by the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee; OR be a pediatric fellowship trainee in a training program AND have a definite commitment for another year of fellowship training. Applicants completing residency with a commitment to start fellowship training are also eligible to apply.
2. Be in good standing in your residency or fellowship training program.
3. Have a substantial need for financial assistance or extenuating circumstances.
