Photo Manipulation

 

 

Photo manipulation involves transforming or altering a photograph using various of methods and techniques to achieve the desired results. From impossible landscapes to unsettling portraits digital manipulations hold roots in surrealism and dada. Artists during this time began to explore revolutionary photographic techniques, born from the surrealist impetus toward discovering affinities in fragments of imagery. This include photomontage, collage, post-production manipulation, staging, and the photogram. Students will take photos with the intention of transforming or altering the image.

Each photo will be used to convey the subject and idea the student wishes to express and will be represented through a series of images. Student can use but are not limited to photomontage, collage, staging, glitching, multiple exposures, pixilation, keying, stencils and other photoshop or manual techniques they can come up with that will fit in a series of 3-5 images.
